A la

Thank you to everyone for your prayers and warm wishes.

My mom is home, and seems to be doing very well. Putzing around the house. Supposedly she can even leave the house. Just has to sit down a lot.

Thanks again everyone!

My Mind’s Telling Me No, but..

My bodies telling me yes…

7:45am. Woke up & couldn’t go back to sleep.

My body wanted to ride. Ride into work, ride somewhere, somehow.
I resisted.
I needed sleep.

8:10am. Had enough of just laying there wishing myself to sleep.

Dog’s fed, teeth is brushed, garbage is put out, Arleigh’s dressed & fed. Email is checked and dog’s are played with. Now what do I do with myself?? Guess it’s time to rant on the blog. I promise I’ve been trying to avoid it.

Hopefully I’ll be riding tonight with Jeannie, even if it’s only for a short time.

Frozen Fear

Now lately I’ve been eating tons of frozen meals.

I don’t perfer them, but it’s better than cereal every night.

Some are good (the green boxes.)

Some I eat only half of it ala www.leancuisine.com/

Any recomendations for food on the go??

Catch Up

Been out of it as of late. Working and doing random other acts.

First actual Thursday I’ve had off in a few weeks, makes me a bit happy. Only thing is the day is soured by the Mothership’s surgery.

She leaves in a few moments, hungry (hasn’t eaten since last night) but freshly bathed. The surgery is officially at 3pm.

Yes, she’ll be hungry until 3pm. At 3pm she’ll be opened up like a turkey on Thanksgiving.

I’ll be around the house all day cleaning, mowing, and hopefully painting. A long list of things that the house & yard need done that have been put off by doctor appointments and test.

On a side note- Dolly Parton & Willie Nelson are all over the iPod

Only One More

August is almost come and gone.

Another summer slowly winding down.
Novelty shops at the beaches only have two more weekends left to make their money.
Classes are starting and friends (co-workers) are going back to college life.

September is fast approaching. The month brings many things for me.

An important anniversary.
MS-150
Days getting colder.
Shorter.
Leaves will be turning.
Rides become tranquil.

Maryland has some of the best seasons that I’ve been able to find.
Hot (but not too hot) in the summer. Enough snow days in the winter.
The kicker for me has always been the spring and fall. The change of seasons.
Washington D.C with it’s cherry blossoms.
Davidsonville road rides with it’s fading leaves.

Wonder what this fall will have in store for me??

Outspokin’ Bicycles is the news

My old shop in SC, Outspokin‘, was in the news.

The Hawley Company, Outspokin’ Bicycles and Trek teamed up to donate three new Trek Navigator 200 bicycles to the South Carolina Department of Transportation. The bicycles were presented to Elizabeth Mabry, executive director of the South Carolina Department of Transportation, during South Carolina Transportation Week.
