Whirling

July 30th, 2006 § 0

Too many thoughts & feelings are running through my head to sleep tonight. The extra 7+ hours I received last night might not of helped. I didn’t ride today like planned. I took the pup for a walk with the lovely woman & it was bloody hot out. No hott with two t’s. It was 2pm & all I wanted to do was go to a cold movie theatre and cuddle up while Orlando Bloom faught off all the bad guys. That’s what we did. I enjoyed it greatly. Then came a few purchases at a few stores & we were home again. Time for dinner & then time to clean & then time for bed.

Wait. where did they day go?

I wanted to ride. To see how sore or not sore my legs were from the 24 hours of 3 mile (Booty.) To see if I still loved my bike like I did at 2am on Saturday. Many questions unanswered, many miles needed to help circulate things in my brain. More than anything I hope this Heed exits my body so I can take a proper crap.

Tomorrow – some work todo, hopefully some rollarcoasters to ride, & also some wheels to spin. For now I’m going to try to sleep again.

Drowsy

I slept for about 14 hours between last night and this morning. I think I slept too much but the lack of sleep from 24 Hours of Booty was making my bell ring.

The ride was wonderful. Except for my computer reseting & my rear wheel crapping out. I ended up with 100 miles on my odometer, this is not including the milage that was on there before it reset. I’ll figure 120. All on a fixie & all around a 3 mile loop. My teammates were inspirational. Sue riding a road bike for the 3rd time pulled out 100 miles. Taryn on a commuterized cyclocross bike (even had the rear fender) pulled out 100 miles. Crazy Ben who didn’t sleep found 150 miles out of his ass. Lovely Mel pulled me around for a lap towards the end also did 100. I’m not sure where Chris or Claire ended up – but I’m sure they were both up there. Chris had 60 before 11pm (on his fixie.)

My hope is next year to do 150-200. Maybe riding before the event might help too! If you didn’t do it, put it on your calendar for next year – it was worth all of it.

Resurrection

Playing catch up all week long. Tomorrow is 24 Hours of Booty. Have you donated to me yet?? My biggest contributor I’m not sure I even know – which is kind of cool (I think it’s healthy to have a stalker or two in life at any given time.)

Yes I’ve been busy. I’ve been flighty & I’ve been stressed. Two of those things are doable – one is not. If I’ve planned to ride with you or call you or do something with you in the past week. I’m sorry. Ignore me. I currently am not the normal reliable Arleigh that you might know. Work is coming before me right now & hopefully after the weekend and a LOT of riding I should be back to normal.

I haven’t ridden in a week. That’s not healthy right? I don’t think so either. I turned my cross bike into a fixie freak tonight. Should be a good thing to roll around and around and around the Booty Loop on. Planning a trip to Clemson next weekend. Quality time with Andrew and quality bonding time on the Rat Monkey in the woods.

Visit my gallery for some good ole photos.

We have a wedding.

We have boredom.

Goodnight – come visit me on the booty tomorrow night!

Weekendness

July 19th, 2006 § 0

One last day of work this week and then off for a few days to travel north. North to a wedding!! OH yes and a little black dress that I hope I fit in by the end of the weekend. I’m looking forward to the hours in the car. No I really am. Listening to music, chatting to the girlfriend, chatting to the pup & just being.

Speaking of the pup – she’s fine. A little bit of seperation problems from her mommy (that’s me) & put a nervous bladder into the equation = peepee puppy. Fiona spends about 20 hours a day with me, 7 days a week. MUCH more than most dogs are with their owners. There are things I can start doing to get her used to being apart from me but until we get a house or larger apartment I don’t feel comfortable with leaving her too long anyways. Thanks for all the kind words – she’s fine – just a bit of a baby.

I’ll be back to normal come next Tuesday. Try email or cell.

Lacking

Due to the lack of posts & photos you’ll have two photos today. The above is a glimpse my new creation of a Karate Monkey. No full photos yet, can’t show all the goodies yet – if you can’t wait to see it stop by the shop.

Rode a couple days since I last wrote. Nothing major. Still figuring out a routine with the lovely gf now in house. The move was flawless – minus all the stuff that came with her. She’s pretty baggageless when it comes to the emotional half of her, but the physical half she brought so many boxes, bags & clothes that it unsimplified my life for a little while. Things are getting settled, boxes are being put away & we are finally figuring out our life together.

Tonight I’m tweaking the Rat Monkey & taking it to a local trail with friends. Gotta play with the chainline before hand.

Until next time I leave you with MonkeyPhile.

Rock my World Mr Rat Monkey

Useless post. I had written up about my girlfriends run in with a cockroach last night, a iPod Shuffle I have been demo’n, my new bike, and my vacation next week. I backspaced it all. It’s that time of the year that I need to be working more and wanting to ride whenever else I can. This leads to no time for good thought out posts.

Life is good.

Enjoying the Ride

July 13th, 2006 § 0

There’s a blog by the name of Enjoying the Ride – I enjoy the blog and the title. Everyday that my feed burner boots up & I read that title it gives me a quick glimpse of what it all is about.

The gf has been here for a couple days now – reality is slowly soaking in. Granted I’m not sure exactly what reality means. I built up my new 29er last night & I’m going riding most the weekend. She is cool with it – I’m allowed to go ride my bike in the woods for a great number of hours & she is ok with it. What did I do to deserve this? Oh yes I must go eat pancakes and do the dishes.

Here’s the having a wonderful girlfriend & great job that allows me to have good things in life (like bikes & pancakes.)

Bull Shit on YOU

July 12th, 2006 § 3

Found a site this morning after reading a couple comments on a friends blog. Seems like the guy goes blog hopping and then posts about what he has heard or not heard about that person. Like he posted about Joe’s site – Single Speed Outlaw. Basing it all on what he read. Hmm what is he going to come up for me? I know I have many hidden secrets & not everyone gets the warm fuzzies about me.

I daily wonder why the hell people have so much negative vibes rolling through them. If Scott posted a photo that I had taken – I wouldn’t care. If someone told a story that was really MY story, who cares – it’s a blog. Stories are stories and this is the world wide web.

Where am I?
