Weekend full of motivational highlights and lots of rain.
Saturday :
Matthew’s football team won their football game in the rain. Sarah came in 10th overall women in the ITU World Duathlon Championship, in the pouring rain. The same place I witnessed a horrendous bike crash of a talented women from Washington, DC. Taking her out of the race and temporarily out of her dream chase. With our jeans still soaking wet we enjoyed wings from Hooters.
Sunday :
Early morning for Rambling Rose. An amazing triathlon for women only. All shapes, sizes, ages and skill level. If that isn’t motivation I don’t know what is.
Meeting Monday will be an on going series of meeting various women in the cycling industry. Learn about their experiences, history and what they are doing to make cycling better for all women. If you are interested in being apart of this or have an idol that you think fits the bill, please let me know!
1st in our series is a very inspirational person to me, Elly Blue. Elly is the managing editor of BikePortland.org, a Portland, OR based website that follows all things cycling around the city. Originally this site was started by Jonathon Maus back in 2005, it now is a power house in the cycling blogging community.
My weekly ride with triathletes have made me realize the technique of my pedal stroke has become more of a hammer than a butterfly. Goal for this winter = bring back my cadence and grace.
Many bikes to fix in the morning. Making the 1×1 back to a mountain bike instead of a cruiser, fixing up the Casseroll with its rain shoes.
